My brother lived in New York for some 45 odd years,unfortunately he passed away in his country of his birth some five years ago. he had no children and left a single unit house in Brooklyn Most of his siblings live in the Caribbean,with only three residing in Canada,none lived in New York or any part of the USA I was designated among the siblings to handle the Estate which meant Administrative duties,Sale and Closure. That meant seeking a lawyer,law firm or legal mind in New York Through a friend of mine who reside in New York, I was given the contact number of Ira K Miller and Associates My first conversation with Ira I was put at ease,he informed me of what was needed,the documents I had to send,the appointment of his son Daniel as Administrator to handle all matters of the Estate in the absence of anyone of us residing in New York it took us a few months for the Court system to appoint Daniel as the Administrator, but we were in constant contact, via email and phone The stage was now set to put the Estate on the market,but when we thought all things was going smoothly,we found out that there were squatters residing in the house The way to remove them was never easy, from afar I learnt of Squatters Rights,of Order to Show Cause, and of how the Court System in the Surrogate Court works,but those obstacles never left Daniel defeated It gave him the strength to push on and pursue with a vigor that I respected from afar. As tedious and strenuous those obstacles were Daniels efforts bore fruit, and now the house minus the squatters were on the market for sale,after all the appraisal was done, and the Broker did his part Our family, with the exception of one of our siblings have never met Ira nor Daniel Today, my siblings all ten of us show our deepest appreciation for the hard and dedicated manner in which our late brothers’ Estate was handled Through the process, I learnt it was the first time that Daniel was handling being an Administrator of an Estate, well he could’ve fooled all of us,because he did so expertly and very professional in the manner in which it was dealt with My siblings and I express our deepest gratitude to both Ira and Daniel for the legal work that was done to bring closure to the Estate, and for making us feel at ease throughout the entire process It is on our to do list to visit the Law offices of Ira K Miller and Associates to personally thank them for a job well done,and to thank them for their trustworthiness throughout ,despite our never meeting on a face to face and personal basis So, from Trinidad and Tobago, and from Toronto we ,the de Peiza siblings say ‘Thank You’ both for a job well done, and if ever we need you , or need your advise, or know of anyone in the US or New York who needs an Estate lawyer, [you may never know] we would not hesitate to recommend Daniel, I am certain you can lift up the world now on your shoulders and can handle any legal matters pertaining to Administrator of Estate at your feet .
